Del Sol welcomes freelance artists to submit their art for pay and praise, getting their solful work in front of millions of people worldwide! Since 1994, Del Sol's color-changing designs have transformed the dimensions of art forever, combining sunshine and science to create a whole new spectrum of light and color.
We value the work of artists from around the world and look forward to bringing independent artists' talents to life through Del Sol's unique, color-changing designs.
This month's art submission theme is for a custom tote bag design.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States or Canada.
There's no limit to the number of designs Del Sol may choose to purchase from any artist. Submit as many as you'd like.
Selected freelance designs will be purchased for a flat fee of $500 USD.
To help you understand what we're looking for, here are some tips to help you come up with your best design:
• Before getting started, become familiar with the color-changing designs on Del Sol's website
• Use what you see as a tool to understand the overall culture of Del Sol and become acquainted with the level of art we expect to receive
• Submit something new — something you didn't see on our site
• We're not looking for the exact same thing, so introduce something unique — a new perspective on our existing color-changing themes
• Most Del Sol designs are sold in resort destinations and should incorporate a vacation, resort feel
Please submit all design images to email@example.com before Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Email artwork as a JPEG image at 100-200 DPI. Individual emails should be kept under 2MB.
Image size can remain small, 4 x 4" or 6 x 4", at the preliminary review stage. Color or black & white images may be submitted. However, because of Del Sol's proprietary Spectrachrome® inks, the colors in your design may need adjusting to produce the best color change.
We spot print our designs using a maximum of 10 colors. Art direction will be given, if selected, as we work toward finalizing any purchased designs.
If artwork submitted was not created on the computer and at the time of purchase you are unable to supply us with a digital computer file for color separation purposes, we will need to renegotiate the $500 compensation. Be aware that any and all images presented in any particular design must be your original art and free and clear of any copyrights, thus avoiding any legal disputes. Upon purchase, Del Sol will own the submitted art design outright. Use of images from books and other printed media does not mean they are public domain. Photo and illustrated images must be original and owned by the artist submitting the design and they must transfer the rights of these images to Del Sol upon purchase of their design. Artists will be held legally co-responsible for any infringement issues that may arise. We do our best to set ourselves apart from other apparel companies by offering one-of-a-kind art. All preliminary work is submitted on the speculation we will purchase your design, but only when a design is actually purchased is the artist compensated at a one-time payment of $500.
