How does it go again . . . “everyone and their dog has a blog?” Or, maybe it’s “every frog was a pollywog.” Is there some type of bottle-breaking ceremony or speech that should be performed for each new blog that enters the blogosphere every second of every day? Let us know and we’ll hang the grand opening sign and break a few bottles.
You may ask – what’s the point of this blog, anyway? Where do we hope to go with this thing? What ride are we taking and when do we get off? Do we have to get off? Are we allowed to get on and off whenever we please? The answers are yes, yes and yes.
Our focus is on bringing the world of Del Sol, and our parent company, Pedersen Worldwide, closer to you. What’s your perception? What do you feel about the matter? Your thoughts and experiences influence how we do business. We want social media and social networking to be social. We all have experiences and we’re all part of this world in one way or another. Maybe together, we can listen, share and see some of the details, ideas and memories and bring the world of Del Sol a little closer to home.
About Pedersen Worldwide
Pedersen Worldwide was created to provide long-term growth and opportunity for the employees and partners associated with its family of brands. Pedersen Worldwide is the parent company for Del Sol and Cariloha (separate sister brand to Del Sol that’s all about clothing, accessories, bedding and bath goods made of bamboo).
About Del Sol
Headquartered in Sandy, Utah, Del Sol was established in 1994 and has since grown to more than 100 stores worldwide in 25 countries. Today it’s the world’s leading brand of color-changing apparel and accessories and the number-one promoted merchant onboard Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, Disney, Celebrity, and Norwegian Cruise Lines.
We began selling our color-changing clothing and accessories out of a small retail cart in Murray, Utah’s Fashion Place Mall, eventually spreading our concept throughout the United States and Canada. After expanding our color-changing product line and fun-under-the-sun experience, we took our products to the world’s most popular cruise ship ports, opening the first, full Del Sol store in St. Thomas in 1997.
NASA explored earlier concepts of color change for its space program back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, but Del Sol further developed and expanded this technology, engineering its own proprietary Spectrachrome® color-changing crystals that are found in all Del Sol products today. Del Sol’s color-changing crystals are harvested from the sunniest, most colorful places on the planet and then engineered for use on more than 21,000 color-changing retail items.
Much like a flower that blossoms in the sun’s rays, Del Sol’s exclusive Spectrachrome® crystals open and unfold upon exposure to sunlight; revealing their hidden colors.
Del Sol is the winner of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Retail, Utah’s Best of State Statue and medal, and is found on Inc. Magazine’s 500/5,000 fastest-growing businesses, along with Utah’s Top 100 Private Businesses.
Through humanitarian efforts, Del Sol has donated more than a million dollars worth of product and aid to victims of the Haitian earthquake, the South East Asia Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, as well as hundreds of other projects around the world and in the U.S.
Pedersen Worldwide “Live Your Dream” Program
The “Live Your Dream” concept was created to inspire individuals to live their dream – whether that be painting portraits, running marathons, obtaining a law degree or climbing Mount Everest. Our company culture supports the ideal that life is meant to be lived to the fullest. We strive to encourage others to adopt this ideal in their own lives and to create a following of “Live Your Dream” enthusiasts through $2,500 dream donations and major humanitarian events.
The “Live Your Dream” recipient is chosen based on co-worker nominations, management nominations and personal contribution within the company. Winners receive $2,500 toward realizing their dream.
